I have been listening to Professor Solomon's lectures from Teaching Company and found them to be the best. What a loss to all of us.

Deepest condolences to all who came in contact with this great mind.

Professor Soloman's death came as a great shock to me. I have been reading his "Introducing Philosophy" with great pleasure as well as a kind of wonderment at how he was able to explain so much, so lucidly. I mentioned the book recently to an acquaintance who told me of Professor Solomon's death.

My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and students. We are all much the poorer for the loss of such a wonderful teacher.

To modify a line from Epictetus (from the "Enchiridion"--or in English, "Handbook"): If he was not yet Socrates, then he lived as if he wanted to be Socrates.

I've listened to Dr. Solomon's lecture series from The Teaching Company on existentialism and the emotions. Both are superb. I was greatly saddened by the news of his death, but part of him, his "personality loop" will live on in me and many other people, most of whom he never met. He made a difference. He will be missed.

Its indeed a sad news for Indian scholars of philosophy to know that Professor Robert Solomon has passed away. His contributions have helped us in a big way to understand the critical aspects of existentialism. Its a great loss.

Just as I remembered him (except that he smiled and laughed a lot more). He found a lot of joy in life.

We'll miss you, Bob.

I'm in Austin at the moment and, frankly, am reeling from the news of Professor Solomon's death.

Thanks to Professor Solomon for exemplifying the way that philosophy ought to be done, and thanks so much for posting the clip from "Waking Life."
